Students for degree education programs may apply at our College, which is responsible for the registration and administration of students, while the instruction and research will be carried out by relevant Colleges and Departments. Duration of study: 3 years for doctoral degree, 2 years for master’s degree and 4 years for bachelor’s degree, subject to extension up to a maximum of 2 years under special circumstances. Students who have earned all the required credits ahead of schedule set forth by the College and have defended their theses and/or dissertations successfully will be awarded relevant Diploma or Certificate of Graduation.

4.Foreign Undergraduate Students majoring in Chinese Language and Culture:

1.Long-term Chinese Language Training Course
(1)Full-time Course: It starts every spring and autumn, with the minimum study period set as one semester. Students may choose to enroll in level 1 to 6 courses according to their own Chinese proficiency. Transcript and Certificate of Completion will be issued upon completion of the course.

(2)Night and Weekend Course: It starts every spring and autumn, with the minimum study period set as one semester. Classes are given at night or during weekends. The curricula are programmed either the same as the full-time course or readjusted according to the specific needs and requirements of students. The schedule of classes is set according to the students’ needs and requirements and the tuitions vary according to the hours of study.
(3)One-on-one Course (Private Individual Lessons): It starts every spring and autumn, with the minimum study period set as one semester. The instruction is tailored to suit each individual student’s unique conditions and requirements in terms of the length, type and schedule of instruction and textbooks used.The tution for one-on-one course is RNB 70/hour.

(4)Chinese Language Training, Cultural Learning and Sightseeing Course:
This is a course designed for groups which starts any time in a year when there are ten or more applicants. The duration of study and sightseeing itinerary will be arranged according to the specific needs and requirements of students.
(5)Night and Weekend Course: The duration of study is 4 to 12 weeks, with class schedule and courses arranged according to the students’ needs and requirements and the tuitions varying in proportion to the length of study.
(6)One-to-one Course (Private Individual Lessons): The instruction is tailored to suit each individual student’s unique conditions and requirements in terms of the length, type and schedule of instruction and textbooks used.The tution for one-on-one course is RNB 70/hour.

1.Any institutions or organizations that wish to send students to study in China may contact the International College of Chinese Studies of Shaanxi Normal University.
2.Individuals applicants may request, by mail or telephone, for “The Application Form for Foreign Students” and send the filled form two months prior to enrollment time. Upon the approval of the application, we shall send the “Admission Notice” and the “Visa Application Form for Foreign Students” (JW202) to the applicants. The applicants shall bring the above-listed documents to apply for visa at the Embassy or Consulate General in their home countries or regions. Individual applicants may also contact the agents of our College at their home countries for the arrangement of their visa application.

IV.Language Proficiency Test:

    The China National Chinese Language Proficiency Test (HSK) is held three times a year, and those who have passed will be awarded the “Chinese Proficiency Certificate”.

    Each semester, our college will make arrangements for our students to visit places of historical interest and scenic beauty within Shaanxi Province, including the Terra-cotta Horses and Warriors of the First Emperor Qin Shihuang, the Famen Temple, the Qian Mausoleum, the Forest of Steles, etc. In addition, a long-distance language skill practice combined sightseeing tour inside or outside Shaanxi Province will also be arranged. The relevant transportation and dining cost will be borne by the College, while other costs such as accommodation and entrance tickets will be borne by students themselves.

(1)Apartment buildings for Foreign Students of different grades at Shaanxi Normal University are available for students to choose from.
(2)Foreign students may either go to the Chinese or Western restaurants in the Foreign Students Apartment buildings or to the Chinese Students’ dining halls.

    Foreign students shall come to school for registration on time, bringing their “Admission Notice”, “Visa Application Form JW202” and eight 2-inch photos. Students who intend to study in China for more than one year are required to bring their “Health Examination Form for Foreigners”. New students may be met at the airport or railway station and transported to school free of charge when they inform the College of their arrival time, flight number or train number.
